BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on 19 February, 1970, [1]) is an American actor, producer, and singer , best known for playing Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. Her performance was so successful that she got the Critics' choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2014. In 2019, she starred in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her professional career as an actress in the theatre. Her Broadway debut in 1997, playing Mary in The Life's initial ensemble. Some of her off-Broadway credits include Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her TV debut as a regular in The NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She was a part of two seasons of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. Her debut film came the year 1999 when she starred as part in Black and White's crime drama. The actress later appeared in other independent films. At the start of the 2000s, she was spotted in guest-starring roles on a number of television dramas and comedies, which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young has made more than 30 appearances on TV series from 2000 to 2011.
